Pain

There are people walking around in this world, going on talking about things. Weird things go on all over the universe which don't exactly always relate to us. And we go on raving about them.

I mean, just look at the various opinions about God !

"Parents are God."

"Man is God."

"God is love."

"God?! Seriously?!"

"Mercy is God."

"God is whatever we choose to perceive Him."

"I'm agnostic."

A 26 year old IT guy with a 13 lac package is going to call Infy God.

An Ambani shall say money is God.

And a retired railway workman pensioner is going to find his God in his sufferance !

Pain.
It's so amazingly intricate, yet tangible that it is absolutely inexplicable at times.
And when mental pain overtires the brain, it metamorphs into physical pain.

The Blue Balloon

The little girl pointedly looked
At the blue balloon..
"Mummy, mummy..
Get me that blue balloon, will you?"
"No, my darling, not today!"

The mother fed the little girl
The simple piece of roti and sabjee
"Hmmn.. tasty.. how do you make it?"
Said the little one, and smiled..
The mother smiled to herself
At the little one's innocence

"So did the Prince save her?"
Asked the little girl,
with an involved anticipation..
And the mother resumed to the story..

By the time the story finished
The little one was already dozing
With a pleased sleepy head.
The mother ensured she slept
And tiptoed to the kitchen.

Taking the brass tin that stored
Her fortune of 10s and 5s and 2s and 1s..
She let go a silent tear..
She had to educate her little daughter
And feed her full, thrice a day..
Dress her neat and teach her good..

She couldn't afford a blue balloon..
Because she never could let her little one
Have the tragic sorrow of
not being able to afford
A blue balloon for her daughter..

Retaliation

Filing nails
To claw your fears

Sharpening knives
To cut your charms

Picking the worst words
To hurt you encore

Dressing up to kill
To let you down

Laughing in your face
To let you low

Thinking maniacal
To destroy you

Smiling at how it feels
To watch you hurt

Speaking with pretense
To see you stumble

Plotting it all
To watch you go down

Burning with hatred
To watch you burn

Aren't you happy now,
To watch me retaliate?

The One Constant

I've missed you in every month
that passed and every moment that didn't...
I've thought you look beautiful every time
I saw you And every time I didn't...
Your voice has brought a smile to
my face-every time I heard it
and every time I didn't...
I've only tried to make you happy
every time you smiled
and every time you didn't...
I knew you'd be loving me no matter
if ever I was ditched
and if ever I wasn't...
I knew you'd be here in my arms
every time you were in my bed
and every time you weren't...
I knew you'd look out for me
every time you were lonely
and every time you weren't...
You've been that single greatest thing
in my life, whether I've told you
or I haven't...
You've been The Reason I could
smile ad-midst my tears,
every time I could manage to hide them
and every time I couldn't...
You've stayed up late
with eyes in wait, every time I came
and every time I didn't...
I've somehow always found a protective care
in me for you, every time I'm strong
and every time I'm not...
I've done my best to shelter you
against all odds, whether it hurt me
or whether it didn't...
I've felt like patting you off to sleep
every time I was home and every time I wasn't...
You make my life special
just by being a part of it,
whether you're near me or whether you're not...
You mirror into me, darling,
bound by time or not,
because sweetheart, you're truly a part of me!

Down the path of love

Putting forth a dainty step
Flashing a gorgeous smile
Taking an awkward pause
Tossing slightly her dimpled chin
She looked down the window
He arrived, handsome and suave
She mentally ticked right
His dressing, his suave style
He too, seemed sure
To be watched by ardent eyes.
His slight proud walk
Impressed her like always.
He knew the ladies liked his smile
And also knew his smile
Was only for her twinkling eyes.
They welcomed him richly
Like they'd welcomed her
She smiled around, hoping
Her blush would go unnoticed
By all but him...
He reached upstairs,
Smiling and greeting all
With his charming flirtatiousness
As she watched with fond attention
She smiled to herself and walked away
And he smiled at that
She went across the hall,
In the balcony, openly blushing now
He hid his smile at her act
In his generous flirting
Pleased to spot her, see her, feel her,
Gathering her pretty actions
To store and cherish
When he'd then go away...
Excusing himself, he walked away
And saw her standing over,
Looking outside the window again
Gazing at an imaginary spot
Filling with a light of its own
He was pleased to see her so
Slowly walking towards her,
Without letting her know,
He went ahead and held her hand
And startled was she,
In sudden flush of bashfulness
An unmissable twinkle in her eye
The trenchful depths of her dimple
She smiled and flushed
And struggled to hide the smile
He too, tried not to smile
And tried holding her back therein..
She smiled again, sadly now
He looked puzzled,
Not understanding anything anymore
She poised for once
And steadied her head
A sudden jerk and off she went
Down the path of love..!
